The dreaded delivery!

How do they do it; I have wondered in awe. They seem to have access to an overflowing cup of creativity; for they can draw inspiration from the most mundane happenings of the daily life. One moment they are struggling to fight off the fog of writer's block and the next some prosaic incident fuels them to ransack their pristine little typewriter and breathe life into words. No, not the authors of the fiction genre, but authors who are fictional themselves. The likes of "Carrie Bradshaw" who inspired me after every episode of the "Sex and the city" to turn every routine chapter of my life into a reader's delight. Here's a stumbling effort.

Yes, all that you read so far was only the prologue and has little or no bearing to the incident I have been wanting to write about. Coming to the point...

My husband and I belong to different states, backgrounds, religions, ah well; to surmise, we are just different. I don't think we really thought this through when we decided to annoy each other for the rest of our lives. Especially as to how we each would impart our wisdom into our offspring. So on the religious front we decided to teach our 7 year old, both faiths and let her decide which one to follow when she is able to decide for herself (although I must admit, she is already a highly opinionated person in her own right). She now can chant mantras and the Lord's prayer all in one breath.

This incident however goes back a few weeks when I started teaching her the Lord's prayer(Matthew 6 : 9-13). It a simple yet all encompassing prayer that Jesus taught, and one of the lines read "Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from all evil". After a few days of her repeating after me and me explaining the meaning, the best I could, I encouraged her to try doing it on her own, and she did it one day. I was thrilled to hear her recite the entire prayer until it came to that specific line and my heart skipped a beat when she said "lead us not into temptation but deliver us TO all evil". It took a long explanation on my part for her to understand what was wrong and after a couple of tries, she now seeks deliverance FROM evil. Thank heavens!!
